Between setting up the The Lounge and more recently the new ALL Norwegian VW forum, VWnorge there just hasn't been enugh time for my blog.

But the Lounge has has become a nice friendly get together for all European hard core Cal-look fans. But also has a surprisingly big American following, the member list reads as a who is who of old school cal-look, and I'm not talking about the nineties "old School" either... these are the guys that started the biggest "look" of all time... namely Cal-look!

Get in the time machine!!

And remember that 2008's BIG event, the Scandinavian Cal-look Classic (SCC) is held on Northern Europe's fastest track Gardermoen Raceway 15-17. August. It's the big thing for Cal-look & Gasser fans, and has been for six years now.This years BIG change is the fact that we will have the whole arena to ourself, this means race to you puke, with a never before seen show and shine that will include everything from Schwimmwagens to mental resto lookers, yes from here on out, everyone will find their place at SCC!!

I have decided to stop the Gassertime streak here. I don't have the time this task deserves. If someone want's to take over, let me know :-)Last weekend we had the SCC, we had a great time, and for a few short days we were in heaven once again... So much cool people and so hot cars... and everyone you come up to has a opinion on our favourite subject CAL-LOOKERS!! Makes for great chit-chat!!The track was a bit under the weather this time, but when it was deemed OK, it was more than ok, sticky beyond belief...it eats gearboxes for lunch, but it's worth it when you se the ET's and the WHEELIES!!And Alien bug flies again... what a magic flying saucer this is.... I think I know what 72 felt like, you know, "the year roof chop's were in style"

To much to do these day before SCC!! But we will survive.I was at DasDragDay last weekend and I finally got to see some of the old gassers in the flesh. I had seen some of them before, but snoopy I had just seen on pictures. This car looks so much better in real life than on pictures... when you get up and close you se that this is a beast!! Look at that stance! I like it!

Most all gassers move to Europe when they get old it seems, except for those great ones lost in central America. The gassers meet at the old American airbase of Bitburg, Germany this weekend, and I'm going down there to meet them.... expect pictures next week gasser dudes!! See you at DDD!! This time its all about RAKE!! Pat Covey used to race this green - 70 monster both at the track and at Bonneville salt flats! It's called the FREAKY FROG! This one has IRS and Datsun axels. I have gotten the picture from our good friend Speedwell! Thanks Fabian!

I found this cool picture while surfing around for info on the Futuro Houses, the house on the picture is called the "Venturo" and is a newer version of the fantastic Finnish Futuro House.. also called the UFO house.

The future takes plastic houses... and type threes... apparently!

A little late... having a few days of and you forget the little things... Here's a picture of the inch pincher... taken in 1966... If you can read the small text you can tell that the wheels (BRM) are brand new on the marked! Remember, there was a time you could just pick up the phone and order a set of genuine BRMs......!!

The racing was faster than ever this year... plenty of elevens and twelve’s was set this year... even thou the staging lanes felt a bit short... I'm looking forward to seeing these SUPER hot cal-lookers at SCC.... Hans Landelius heats his tires in an attempt to get some traction...

Kurt from V-dubs Video was all over the event to get it all on tape... here he has cornered Petter Carlberg in the staging lines. The sticker on the door is there to inform you about the heads on Petters 244 hp engine!! JPM fantastic MS 230 heads!
