Only in Sweden?

How often do you see something like this on the public road??
There is something really special about this one too, can you spot it?

Weekend at last!! GASSER TIME!!

This is what the Schley Brothers campaigned after the Lightning Bug...  this dragster was also called the Lightning Bug, other that that the resemblance is little...  but it looks cool...

You can see it live in one of the Ocean Street Videos...

The perfect crossover!

I have been secretly in love with Lola's since I saw one doing laps at Spa in 2002. I didn't think they had much in common with the VW world until I saw a "LOLA Super Vee" at a picture from the Bugshow in 2004. Even thou these are relatively new machines I think they have a really cool look... Formula Vee's don't have much on these baby's...  check out the suspension..  REAL stuff! Enjoy

This one is a  1974 Lola 324 super vee.... even the name is cool!

Hiding Inch Pincher one!

Not a good photo, I have a better somewhere... but it will do for now...! I have another photo showing the same backyard in a different angle which shows the Inch pincher II which appears to be taken the same day. The body of IP1 is seen in the shadows.

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer's Gassers!

During the pink eighties gassers could not have been further from my mind... but in Sweden a VW hotrodder named Classe Ebbenäs was racing his vw funny car... The shell has made entirely from fibreglass and was one of three I have been told... (one of these is in Norway now)

I think the closest thing to Classe's racer must have been the Jouster from Empi.... Sadly Ebbenäs passed on in 2002, but his cars might be around, this car was sold to Holland, do you Dutch guys know of it?

BTW do you notice the slogan "Spola kröken" ? It means "flush the booze" in a very seventies way...

THIS FABULOUS PICTURE WAS PROVIDED BY ØYSTEIN "SPLITMAN" ASPHJELL, THANKS!!

For more info read this info from Peter Servais excellent website:

It's FRIDAY!! Gassertime!!

Just south of the border!! El Profeta has a very early gasser style with it's stock (?) ride height. But it looks kind'a cool anyway.... A gasser with a cool name makes all the difference!  Check out the Nerfs on that one!

Herifra til Rockaway Beach!

One of Norway's most diehard Cal-look/Gazzer boys is Thomas "Der Stingerpizzer" Mårud!
He has seldom been hard to spot at VW shows in Scandinavia, in fact he really comes into his own when the party commences! Lately he has persued his other big interest, Rock n' Roll! Together with author Levi Henriksen he's touring the country and have even been on TV on occasions. Levi, a rocker at hart, has written the story of his life in a sort of a musical way... and Thomas accompanies Henriksens words on guitar, and covers various artist to perfection in-between... it works really well!

If they come you way, be sure not to miss them, this rocks in a big way and I left with a big smile!

JÆVLA BRA MÅRUD!!

GASSER TIME!!

Ole has wisely keept the appearance of the engine... no need to set new world records with these old cars, after all this car has done a 11.34sec/187.1km/t @ OCIR 1974!

GASSER TIME!!

Friday at last!!

And I have more real dirty pictures for you... This is Ole Endler's Pink Panther, its the real deal  born and raised (or should that be raced?) in Mexico! It was built by a shop called "Cunicas Automotices de Mexico"... that sounds VERY Mexican to me at least!!

All the cool aspects of this car is well documented at El Dub's fantastic site, as is the case with most of the gassers I show every Friday....   so, for more information go tohttp://www2.cal-look.com/nostalgia/panther.html

A set of JAP wheels... for a Mini... looks almost identical to mine...except for the gold paint... I can almost smell the F1 legacy in these wheels...
