SCC is over, life must go on...

It's amazing what a set of wheels and a lowering job does to a stock car... this car belongs to Conny Lind, and it's called "putter smellan"

SCC is over, life must go on...

Anders Letmolie found this lovely 57 a couple of weeks ago... pulled it out from under a barn... fitted a new front suspension a 1500 engine and a set of Rocet wheels, the rears are wearing lovely Indy Profile MT's   ...just beautiful, notice the "halo" around the rear lights?  When he found it it had sixties lights...  but the original ones just happened to lay inside the car... lucky *******!

THE BEST SCC EVER EVER!!!!

This has been a KICK ASS WEEKEND!!! Not one boring second!! The big star of the event was the weather.... SUNSHINE SUNSHINE SUNSHINE!! The track was soaked with trackbite... you had to tie your shoes tight to keep them on... I'm not kidding! What a track Gardermoen is... pure rubber to about 100 meters out... insane...! And the track condition showed on the times... all the hard-core Swedes and Danes broke their personal records... Hans Landelius of Sweden broke in to the twelve’s, as did Thomas Riisaard (DK)!! John Ellnef (DK) almost broke into the elevens...!!! Roar Lunde (N) almost got his first ten... without turbo! Peter Carlberg (S) clicked of a fantastic 12.21 and would have done even better if the differential had survived he Gardermoen traction... to bad!

Next year will be even better (if possible?), because you will be there!!

The picture was taken early on Friday... Janne Andersson had just arrived in a spectacular sunshine!

It's FRIDAY!!

I think I can say with certainty that this is the Friday in the year with most VW's on trailers in Europe. People from all corners of Europe is heading to Germany for DasDragDay3...and will spend the next week attending lots of mid-week happenings i Belgium, all culminating in the fantastic Belgian Buggy show at SPA racetrack!!

If you want to find out more, visit our friend Kobus, or this page: http://www.autobahn.be/

I truly don't get people mocking trailers...?? It all boils down to were do you want to spend your mileage...

After all, if the Juster never had been taken of the trailer, it would have been around today... :-)

Slow times on my blog??

Maybe, but my updates on www.cal-look.no is far more frequent...  one Norwegian VW freak each day until Scandinavian Cal-look Classic,  It's a tough job...  only 4 million people in Norway... and only a handfull owns hot VW's....   but it's starting to resemble a "who is who"....  check it out...!

I stopped at a garage last night and snapped a few pictures of a Oval, it used to be a Oval at least...   "Assy" has fitted a 915 Porsche gearbox, "big reds" from a Porsche 993, computer controlled fuel injected 2,7 litre Type 4... and 17 inches of cup wheels.... and every chassis mod in the book...
BTW the speed limit in Norway is 100 km/h... :-)

FRIDAY AT LAST!!!

Have you ever thought about the names of the gassers?? If you start noticing it you will soon find out that the name is seldom "self glorifying" In fact most of the time the names goes with the bugs "underdog" status in the drag racing word...  things to think about if your ever plan to build your own! Here's a good example... "Porcupine"  With 13" wheels up front....

GASSER TIME!!

This time it's the Swedish legend "Snövit" (Snow white) raced by Hazze Lindholm. It was built some time before -86 but it was painted bright white for the 86 season, and renamed "Snövit". Just look at it, the result of this wheelie was a bent front suspension and a picture on the wall of fame over at Gene Berg in California... an awesome picture!

GASSER TIME!!

Classe "Trimco" Ebbenäs was in charge of the engine for the year 86... the engine was a ARPM 2275 with SuperFlow heads and weber IDA's. Notice disc brakes in the rear. The maiden journey over the 201 meters resulted in a 7,50, the fastest of the BUG RUN weekend.

Lightning bug is found!

Well, it was never really lost but it's long since we saw any pictures of it. Its been living in Puerto Rico, in the city of San Juan... owned by the same man who bought it of the Schley brothers years ago...

What's next....  "Inch pincher too"??

Can't wait for a Friday with this stuff, even if it's tomorrow....
Not much has changed in the interior, just some minor stuff...  and the Schley's want it back!

I got to get me one of those!!

I remember dreaming about doing wheelies in my 03 when I was fifteen...  then I thought it took a "Porsche engine"...   some years later I realised that a HOT type 1 engine is way cooler than any heavy missfitting six cylinder engine....   and now Johannes Persson of http://www.jpmotorsport.se/ shows us how!  A stock 1303, with all the trimmings..  even hubcaps! But the engine is something special, a 2332 I think, with Mikuni carbs...  no NOS...  and he uses this car daily...   it does mid twelve's... and may show up at SCC!

AWESOME!

BTW, Johannes is THE man for hot head's.

Can't stop thinking about SCC!!

I think the ricer boys will remember the upcoming Scandinavian Cal-look Classic/ Right-on event... more bugs than ever, the fastest bugs from all over Scandinavia will make up for what was left undone at Bug Run this year...!!  Fast bugs combined with northern europes finest/fastest strip may result in spectacular wheelies... I hope the ricer/US-car boys bring a extra set of pants... and EARPLUGS!!!

27-28 of August... Maps and more information on www.cal-look.no and the rules we play by this year on www.righton.no

It's FRIDAY!! Gassertime!!

This time it's a roof shop from Texas! Mr Rudy Inamoto owned both this car and a buissness called Competition Motors in El Paso....  Texas that is.  The driver was Leon Ruddock, and the car used a MSD-6 ignition... with a Chevy distributor... back in 1980.

Well... I have to get back to "doing nothing"...!

BURGER RUN!

Ghia brothers...

BURGER RUN

Three Ghia's on one place is maybe not enough to raise eyebrows out in the big world.... but in Norway only one would be enough...! But maybe the fact that all of these roll on 4,5" and 6" Fuchs may be of interest, all with 901 part numbers? ...and two out of three has Berg5 speed gearboxes...!
